By providing more contact surface area with the soil, our alloy steel core conductors drive fault current into the Earth better than anything else!
Where bedrock makes installation nearly impossible, a typical ground grid on 20 ft spacing can even replace the vertical electrodes (ground rods).
Field measurements shown on this graph are at 93 Ω·m (ideal, low resistance) soil, but the effect is seen in high resistance soil, too. Better contact surface area and two edges drive fault currents to discharge! The effect is reduced at 160 feet, acting then just like regular cable.

More corrosion-resistant than copper! SHINING ARMOR is designed to block the flow of electrons, and as such, it reverses corrosion and extends the life of the installed system almost indefinitely!
Corrosion is an electro-chemical reaction. In the electrolytic soil, metal is stolen from the more negatively-charged portion of the wire, strip, or cable to the more positively charged one. Copper is not immune from corrosion. Copper cables have natural defenses but can lose 1 or 2 mils of diameter per year. In SHINING ARMOR, corrosion is eliminated by design, and the result is a 100-year service life. And possibly much, much longer than that!
